The SSSS had plenty of things to see and do, regardless of your particular interest in the off-road hobby. Whether you’re into ATVs, dirt bikes, low-budget buggies, RVs and trailers, or if you were simply shopping for some new parts, this show had it all. There’s also lots of businesses selling displaying fabrication tools, machinery, tires, wheels, suspension kits, and various services that off-road enthusiasts need. One of the things we end up doing each year at the show is purchase our annual BLM Season Permits. They have plenty of them on hand, and then we have one less thing to worry about as we’re packing up and getting ready for our first dune trip the following month.

No coverage of the SSSS would be complete without talking about the different off-road organizations, clubs, and non-profit volunteer groups that are working behind the scenes to keep our public lands open for future recreation. This includes the San Diego Off Road Coalition (SDORC), Friends of Oceano Dunes (FoOD), Off Road Business Association (ORBA), California Off-Road Vehicle Association (CORVA), and the American Sand Association (ASA) to name a few. These groups are there handing out literature and information packets about current issues related to the off-roading hobby.

TOP, aerial view of the Family Fun Zone shows just a portion of the exhibitors at the SSSS. In all, there were about 365 businesses at the show. BOTTOM LEFT, King’s new display was larger and more impressive, and showed most of their product line. BOTTOM RIGHT, Tatum Motor Sports had two versions of its buggy line on display, along with an array of parts that they manufacture.
