Shock Therapy Ultimate Tie Rod Kit Available RZR
Shock Therapy's Ultimate Tie Rod Kit is loaded with features to increase strength and ride quality.

Shock Therapy has released something new for the Polaris RZR Pro R and Turbo R. The Shock Therapy Ultimate Tie Rod Kit is a replacement tie rod kit that is stronger than the factory tie rod, but also comes with their patented BSD (bump steer delete) Pin Kit, which eliminates the factory ball joint and tapered pin.

This tie rod kit is designed to correct steering geometry and eliminate bump steer while significantly increasing strength. Factory Pro R and Turbo R tie rods use an arched design, tapered ball, and socket-style inner joint to connect to the steering rack to maintain clearance at full droop. However, this creates a weak point in the system at the narrow part of the factory joint.

The Ultimate Tie Rod Kit corrects this by using a patent-pending, self-clocking, clevis, and 5/8-inch rod end at the inner joint, resulting in a four times stronger connection than the factory setup. In addition to the strength benefits, this clevis-to-rod end connection allows Shock Therapy to run a straight tie rod, allowing toe adjustments without disconnecting the tie rods from the spindle.

Shock Therapy’s BSD pin kit is height-adjustable which allows bump steer to be eliminated.

Factory tie rods also utilize a ball joint with a tapered pin at the spindle. This factory tapered pin design means that the installed height of the ball joint can vary from car to car, causing different amounts of bump steer and steering wheel feedback. The outer joint in the Shock Therapy Ultimate Tie Rod kit has a custom-made rod end with a 3/4-inch uniball.

Shock Therapy’s BSD pin kit is height-adjustable using the included BSD spacers made from heat-treated high-carbon steel. For more information on the Ultimate Tie Rod Kit, be sure to visit the Shock Therapy website.
