Bad Weather Creates Chaos During Dakar Rally

The Dakar Rally is in full swing, but for those in the Southwest who have experienced some rainy days these last few weeks has been nothing compared to what the races had to endure. The third stage of the 2023 Dakar Rally was dramatic, as an extreme weather event caused local flooding and absolute chaos for the competitors.

In addition to racing, the larger vehicles seen in the video are support vehicles for the teams. Caring extra parts and tools, these vehicles can help keep the Rally alive for teammates, but in this case, they were there to lend a hand by pulling them through the flash floods.

Due to the extreme weather, they saw during the rally some of the stages to help keep things moving along. We have been keeping a close eye on the rally, and the Americans are doing exceptionally well.

Stay tuned, as we will report the winners when the rally finishes on January 15th. For all the latest updates on the rally, be sure to visit the Dakar Rally website.
